... hmm, not at our best, particularly first half.
TJJ clearly a technically good player (look at that Shrewsbury goal), but doesn't have the strength of Ladapo, the pace of Jackson, or the nous of Harness or Chaplin. Honestly, feels a bit like he's shoe-horned into the side.
Harness mis-placed a fair few passes, Evans was a little off, and Burns worked hard, but, as before, isn't quite at the same level as last year... kinda understandable; he was so effective last year that he's gonna attract scrutiny from every opposition team to shut him down.
I was very keen for Ladapo, Chaplin and Edwards to come on; annoyingly Ladapo didn't really make so much of an impact when he came on.
Jackson put in a shift; he should've scored from the chance Burns subsequently put away, and the penalty was, er, bad... but he ran all night, Davies couldn't handle him.
And yet... we won. Morsy was good, especially 2nd half - an axcellent performance considering the early booking; Davis made some great runs down the left, and Woolf/ Fridge were pretty solid. Walton had very little to do.
An ugly game that, most likely, we'd have drawn under Cook or Lambert, which, I suppose, is the point. Teams get promoted off the back of these nondescript wins.
Love seeing the ground full, love the buzz walking out afterwards, hearing little pockets of song as you walk across the Cattlemarket and up Princes St into town.

Didn't feel like we were gonna lose. And three points well deserved despite the slightly under par performance. As ever you gotta look at the oppo as much as ourselves, and Derby are far from a bad team.
