Barnsley, Bolton and Derby away on 15:19 - Feb 7 with 591 views | HighgateBlue | Whether we make the automatic spots is determined by whether we go upwards from 3rd to 2nd. To do that, we need to overtake someone. So our remaining match against a team above us is more important than teams several points below us. Plainly we'd rather beat Wednesday and lose against Barnsley than vice versa. If Wednesday and Plymouth keep winning, it doesn't matter what our results are against the teams you mention. I don't think anyone's given up - they just have a different view of what is likely. We must all cheer on the lads and attend games in our numbers. Do I think we'll win the cup? Absolutely not. Have I given up hope? No. That's why I went to the Rotherham game when we were only half full. Automatic promotion is clearly more likely than winning the cup, so I'm certainly not giving up hope of that. I just think our chances are decreasing on account of our recent form, which sadly is bottom half rather than top two. As for "they shall not be forgotten", I"m not sure anyone is really quaking in their boots at some sort of tractor mafia. If we win the league, please enjoy it rather than pointing at others and decrying their powers of forecasting. You can be sure that they will be enjoying it. And if we fail to get promoted automatically, don't shout at others for just being right. | | | |
