Bar the first 5 minutes, there was very little urgency to win that game. We're so painfully slow at getting forward that the 3 or 4 times we could have countered, the opportunity was gone before it began. Its so easy to set up against us that every game has the same feel to it. If we don't score early, then the tempo fades away, teams get deeper, spaces narrow and we run out of ideas. We don't have any injection to turn a game in our favour other than pass, pass, pass. Clarke ending up as a left back, wing back, shows we're desperately trying to shoehorn players in. Having said that, he actually caused a few problems and the hapless Davis did need replacing as my god, that boy does not know how to defend. Awful night for him. If you can't have a meltdown tonight, when even finishing 6th now looks a challenge, then I don't know when you can. Football hey. | |
