Yep. Feel for the owners after the money they've put in recently. Luckily most of the building was saved so hopefully the gym and gym classes can resume soon. | |

Big shame really - can't see a return there for a long while!!
I did hear that there was a plan to refurbish some of the gym kit too - bikes and treadmills. |  |

Hi Everyone
I’m sure, by now, you will have picked up via the local media the news of a major fire that we have suffered at Riverhills.
Clearly, we are all completely devastated by this and are appreciative of the many kind messages and support we have received. We are thankful that the fire broke out in the night when the building was empty and so no one was injured. We are also very grateful for the incredible work of the fire service who have saved much of the building. The first impressions would suggest that the damage is limited to the pool hall and Studio 2, other areas of the Club do not appear to be affected.
The fire service are still on site and have not handed the building back to us yet but we have the insurers out at 2pm today and we will begin the process to rebuild the pool just as soon as we can.
We would be grateful if you could bear with us over the next few days so that we can plan a way forward and ensures that you can get back to enjoy at least some of the Riverhills experience very soon. At the moment, we have no electricity, internet or phone system in the building and so communication is difficult. We will be posting updates on our website, via social media and we will be emailing you all again next week.
Thank you for your support and understanding. Riverhills has a very special place in all our hearts. We have survived the pandemic and we are determined to bounce back from this too.
