The right wing press has always lied and distorted things when it comes to Labour policies, but these days it's making up complete nonsense and straying into conspiracy theory type territory as it (thankfully unsuccessfully so far) fights the culture wars in a desperate attempt to shore up the Tory vote.

You’ve been close enough to see how the tories and their stooges work and so have I. I don’t bother much with the U.K. press these days, but the easiest approach is that if you take the opposite of anything these mugs say, you’ll be closer to the truth.
As you rightly point out they are scraping around trying to shore up what little they have left by scare stories, culture wars etc. They can hardly fight the next election on the economy, health, defence, the police, education, Brexit, the environment, infrastructure, prisons and the justice system, corruption and standards in public life, public spending, growth or anything else. |  | | |
