Bloody hell. If that's accurate, it's absolutely extraordinary. And possibly something which we're even less likely to fix than cascading climate collapse.

If the samples are representative of the brain as a whole, which has a mass of about 1.5kg on average, then that's 7.5g of plastic at a density of something like 1, that's a 2cm cube or something like the size of a old style 8x2 stud lego brick!
