Saw the EADT article keeping tabs on our loan players, which made me think about the players we were reportedly (or not) interested in recently. Will be interesting to see if a few that didn't move are ones we go back for. Much will be dependent on our league position of course. If we're down and out, I think we'll take stock and prepare accordingly. If we're confident with a little work we can survive, then I suspect we'll make more moves. Tom Fellows "Advanced talks" was the headline, but ultimately, he stayed at West Brom and we don't know how much was in this. Has started all 5 of their games and had 4 assists...West Brom currently top the table too. Ogbene and J Clarke cover his position, and with Wes fit, I don't think it's likely we'll be back for him any time soon. Latte Lath "Didn't travel" on the last minute apparent query, given the real chase for Broja, not sure whether this was a forcing hand type approach or genuine interest. Has 1 goal in 4 starts, Boro having an indifferent start to the season. Not sure he was really what we were after, but has different attributes to what we have. Armando Broja We all know this one dragged on....still injured...suspect Everton desperate to see him in action. Wait and see if we were lucky or unlucky here. Oliver Skipp Linked with us, went to Leicester....played 3 games, decent rating for a young lad in a key position, will be interesting to see how he progresses. Sincerely doubt he's better than Phillips, but he's young and he's theirs...will follow with interest. Wilson Odobert Another Burnley link, ended up at Spurs. Has started 2 games, but doesn't appear to have made much impact, that said, early days and making the first team there is not to be sniffed at, may have been an ambitious one for us. Alexis Saelemaekers Left winger, started 3/4 for Roma who are currenly without a win. Now needs ankle surgery from an injury. Jaden Philogene This one was a bit of a social media frenzy, the seemingly mad agent, more interested in his own image lol! Jaden probably would have played in all of our games so far, but opted for Villa. Obviously had connections there already, so understandable from that point of view, but think he'd have made our team. Only 17 mins so far, but suspect he'll be eased in to an impressive Villa. Time will tell as to whether we've missed a gem. Joe Rodon Went under the radar for me, don't remember much, but ultimately opted for a Leeds team who really loved him. Leeds start has been slow, not sure on him to be honest, O'Shea had the PL experience, so glad we got that done instead. Jayden Oosterwolde The Fenerbahce left back, probably a tentative question given Leif could have been subject to some enquires. Young and doing well this season so far. Could be one we go back for if Leif does well and we're likely to see him get a big move. Fotis Ioannidis Ahh, the early "spending" indicator. Fotis was seemingly our first choice target, but he stayed with Panithinaikos, presumably for European football. 4 games into their season, he's yet to score in the league, but has shown good stats otherwise for limited game time and of course has scored 3 goals in the UEFA B league. I think we'll monitor this one closely for January, dependent on our respective positions. Will try and revisit nearer Christmas and see where a few of them are. [Post edited 17 Sep 2024 12:31]
