I know Mark Ashton comes in for a bit of stick 10:51 - Nov 7 with 4738 viewsKeno

but I must admit I like the guy and think we are lucky to have him.

I'm reminded of a bit near the end of the Mr John book (see note) where one of nephews says something to the the club at that time having "a faceless owner and that we needed someone who cared about the club again'

There will never me another John Cobbold, but Mark Ashton does care and is very much part of our identity in the way the Cobbolds where

Note - if you havent read the book yet do so, there is one on Amazon atm

The Oxford Dictionary definition of a Spiv is:

''a man, typically a flashy dresser, who makes a living by disreputable dealings''

I really hope Mark Ashton is alerted to your post partcularly the last element of your post where you have accused him of ''making a living by disreputable means''

Oh dear!! I think he has been alerted.

I wonder if we're missing Mike O'Leary's calming presence in the boardroom this season. I thought he was a brilliant figurehead. Ashton obviously has his strengths but they may not be suited to Chairman.
