Smart Heating 20:05 - Nov 23 with 740 views | Zx1988 | Can anyone help me regarding smart heating? We've got a Nest setup at the moment, but want to move to a zoned system to make things even more efficient. We're plumbed for one heating zone, which makes smart TRVs the most economical option, but Nest doesn't support them. Yay. It looks like Hive or Tado are the best options in terms of working with smart TRVs, a hot water cylinder, and keeping the functionality we like such as geofencing to turn the heating off when we're not at home. Does anyone have any particular experience with this sort of setup, or any recommendations?

Smart Heating on 22:45 - Nov 23 with 593 views | Durovigutum | We had a Nest and replaced it with Tado. The actual job was really easy, Nest needed a plumber but I wired the Tado unit. The difference is significant. We set the bedrooms to come on in the morning, but leave the living room and study. Turn it all off during the day when there is no-one in, then in the evening warm up the kitchen, living room and leave the bedrooms until just before bedtime. It is difficult to work out how it has saved on heating costs because its all gone so high, but I'd guess at 25%, but the house is definitely more comfortable. They've just launched a new generation of Tado unit.

Even my wife likes the app controlled aspect and she was anti the change! Think it’s slightly cheaper than others but perfectly good, although app interface not as pretty as Tado.

I've seen the Drayton mentioned elsewhere, but I can't see that it has geofencing built in? I've seen mention that you can get it to work by integrating it with ITTT, but I'd rather have something that has the features out of the box.
