When did La Liga start showing Athletic Club in the table rather than Athletic Bilbao. Any Spanish based blues know why. I had never heard of Athletic Club until tonight.

It's what they're known as here for as long as I can remember. Maybe it's a name translation thing that in the UK they've used Athletic Bilbao in case there was a confustion with Atletico de Madrid.

Think its similar to Inter Milan and AC Milan who are just Milan and Internazionale or Inter in Italy.

Another one in Spain is El Real and La Real, the common references to Real Madrid and Real Sociedad. Bit unfair on other Reals like Oviedo.
