Midfield lacking mobility... 08:21 - Jan 20 with 697 viewsITFCBlues

And quality if we're being honest. Morsy just unable to get around the pitch, was running in treacle at points yesterday. Cajuste can't play more than 65 mins and again, not sure he's got the legs. Phillips unfortunately seems half the player he used to be and then there's Taylor and Mass who probably aren't up to it.

Think we've got to be looking at this area as a priority in all honesty, the amount of times we're being done in transition is alarming.

Poll: Has our squad been improved this summer?

They were set up to fail in fairness yesterday though. Morsy and Cajuste were essentially up against 4 other players, Gundogan, Kovacic, KDB & Nunes. They were always going to be up against it.

While I get that arguement, nobody complained about their lack of mobility when we played Chelsea.

For me it's more about formation. Defensively we struggled earlier this season so KM went to a 3 / 5 defensive formation. That made us harder to breakdown and it started to deliver some positive results. But the negative is our CM is then 2 players invariably against 3 or 4 coming into CM for the opposition. It's then exacerbated when we go behind in games we have to come out more with our attack focused on the wings, leaving more gaps in the middle. Brighton & Man City followed a similar pattern, looking ok until they scored. Ironically, we could do with a John Stones type player in that situation, a CH who is comfortable on the ball and happy to step forward and help the CMs.

That's KMs dilemma at the moment, does he go back to a flat back 4 or stick with the 3 / 5 formation
