He’s the weak link of the front 4 no doubt, not sure what he give that Ogbene couldn’t. He barely got a kick for Ireland in the week which I think shows something. Adding to this he put a proper hospital ball into the middle which led to our first goal, different type of deflection there and they would’ve been 2v2. [Post edited 13 Sep 9:31]

Extreme jealousy that they don’t have a team that can play pretty average and yet still win 5-0 against the previous years play off finalists. Hopefully same happens in 3 weeks time. |

Anyone suggesting Perfect needs to give their head a wobble, would be banter era esk. Imagine going to an away ground and the home crowd is singing that as the players kick off, would just laugh |

Not sure Ed Sheeran Perfect is a pre match football song but each to their own |

This is the thing, I’m sure 90% of our fans don’t want it anymore. I’m to a point where I don’t even sing it now it actually cringes me out. No idea how we get to the club to change it. |

Absolutely - everyone knows it and it’s OUR song, not one every single team can sing. |

Can we all agree this needs to be binned now? Gets all the away fans up and is used by about 50% of the other clubs in England. Get Come on the town playing as they’re kicking off instead! |

Realistically if we manage to get promoted this season, half of this team will be changed again, just the way it is until you reach a point like the likes of Fulham, Brentford etc and don’t need an overhaul every window. |

People have short memories, Mark Ashton is a large reason as to how we got to enjoy 2 of the best years as Ipswich fans we could’ve possibly imagined. Back to back promotions isn’t something every team does, might not happen again for a long time. Yes maybe he likes the limelight a little but who cares, he’s given me everything I wanted as for football moments / memories over the last few years. |
 | Forum Thread | As sad as it is.. time to move on. at 22:25 1 Sep 2025
I am feeling very sad about Chappers and Wolfy, same as when mass and especially Morsy went. Ultimately these guys aren’t quite good enough for us now. Unfortunately the back to back promotions meant we didn’t get to enjoy all of these together for as long as we would’ve hoped, realistically they weren’t premier league level either but they were given their chance. Chappers whether people agree or not would’ve been 3rd choice in his position when everyone is fit, he doesn’t deserve that and deserves to be playing games. Same with Wolfy. Absolutely would’ve wanted to keep them for sentimental value but I imagine Chappers was keen to move back to Pompey along with Wolfy clearly wanting to move. |

Starts a league game, loaned out 2 days later.. Were not getting any money for a player who seems a real leader on and off the pitch. I guess with Akpom and Szmods as 10's he's the 3rd choice when everyone is fit. |

Surely we arent letting Wolfy go to then replace him with Marc Mcguinness.. Wonder why we stopped the pursuit of Caceres |

He's not helped himself after completely fluffing a great chance last week, then having the touch of a hippo just before halftime on Saturday to end a really promising attack though. |

We need cover for Matusiwa, if he gets injured we're then very light in that area. Jordan James isnt that type of midfielder but would still welcome him in. |

I’m not suggesting McKenna is the problem and absolutely wouldn’t even think about replacing him. But he’s also the manager of the most valuable squad in the league, 3 points from 4 games and not a single goal from open play (other than an own goal). |
