Seeing Atlanta bidding on every player 17:32 - Jan 20 with 1004 views | NeverSayDie | in the English league system made me think; do our American affiliated club Phoenix Rising not have any players that could be of use to us, or have the powers that be decided that nobody is allowed to move between the clubs?

Seeing Atlanta bidding on every player on 17:46 - Jan 20 with 876 views | MattinLondon | They play in the second tier of American soccer which is probably level to L1/2. The jump in ability is immense. How many third tier players here are brought by PL clubs? The MLS might well have good players which are significantly cheaper than European based players. Think Villa brought Duran from Chicago Fire relatively cheaply.

Second tier here is nowhere close to the level of L1 or L2. Miles away from that standard. That’s not to say there might be the odd gem to be found.

I know nothing about the US football scene, MLS obviously has some decent players, but I was unaware of where Phoenix sat in that league system, oh well, that’s disappointing and probably explains why players don’t loan between the 2 clubs 🙃 [Post edited 20 Jan 17:58]

Weirdly, Alan Brazil went to NASL to play for Detroit in 1978 - I assume on loan - so I guess if nothing else it’s a good experience for young players to sample another country.

Yeah, that was my thinking, that maybe some of our youngsters could go over there, would be a cracking experience, but I guess if the standard is way off the UK, it may be viewed as detrimental to progress and prefer them playing here 🤷♂️
