Form is… not catastrophic? 07:30 - Jan 21 with 596 viewsZapatasMoustache

We’ve had a tough run of games, and it feels like a very uphill battle at the moment. Nevertheless, we got four points from Arsenal away, Chelsea at home, Fulham away, Brighton at home, City at home. I think that’s about par. That looks a little more encouraging when you look at the form of the teams around us - Southampton and Leicester have lost five on the bounce, but of the next six teams, only West Ham have more points than us from the last five games. They have two wins rather than a win and a draw, so not dramatically better. United, Everton and Wolves have exactly the same record, while Spurs is the worst outside the bottom two. So in the context of a relegation dogfight we are holding our own during a really tough run. Palace have had a really good little set of results and seem to have lifted themselves out of that group - conversely Brentford have had a bad five games and have let themselves only just above it.

None of this is to say we’ll definitely stay up - more that we’ve kept ourselves in a position where IF we can do a Palace-like run of three decent results over five games things will look a lot rosier. We’re not dead yet!

Yeah this.

We’re so used to achieving something through winning a LOT of games.

To achieve our biggest achievent in 25 years we just need to be a little bit less sh!tter than 3 other teams. Which we are arguably on track for.
