Just putting it out there as I've no idea or and don't know enough about his past to have an informed opinion, but is Godfrey likely to be an option at all in CM in games where we need more physicality from the off or from off the bench when we're looking to shore things up? Bearing in mind he's played there before. He certainly has the pace and size and also has more PL experience that most, albeit mostly as a defender. I suppose the question is likely to be more around ball retention and distribution which is where I still think SM adds value.
As I say I'm not suggesting it's a good idea as I simply don't know and I may be off the mark (as ever KM is best placed to judge it); he just seems a bit of a waste if Axel is first choice RB and stays fit enough to play regularly. [Post edited 4 Feb 10:59]

In his home debut against Man City you mean. Not sure anyone covered themselves in glory that day, and yes he had a couple of heavy touches. But he also looked quite useful in patches in the first half certainly. | | | |
