That's if he wants to stay of course. He's hardly had any game tine since returning fit, and Delap had only scored 2 goals since January I think. Hirst is a much more complete striker I feel, and brings others into play that Delap doesnt. I'm not trashing Delap at all. But we're trying to stay up and Mckenna has put all of thus on a young players shoulders I feel. Hirsts only had one serious , significant injury . The torn hamstring. And as often happens when player gets a very bad injury, they nearly always get a secondary one when they come back. Which he did. I dont think he had any Injury issues when we bought him, but I accept there's the concern there. Fingers crossed he stays fit. I'd love to see him and Chappers get some full games b4 the end of the season, and it's a pity Szmodics is now out, because he's another experienced player that really hasn't had much game time in my humble view.

Had Szmodics stayed fit all season, I think he would have pushed Delap for top scorer this season. He will be a massive asset for us next season. As for Hirst, no need for him to move on. Scotland don't have an abundance of forwards playing in the top leagues, so he can still advance his international career here. I think a front 4 of Hutchinson, Szmodics, Clarke and Hirst will give us the best front line in the Championship by some way. With Ogbene, Philogene, Chaplin, Burns and Broadhead as options as well, sides will not be looking forward to playing us. I would like us to convert to 4-3-3, but no way McKenna changes. No idea who McKenna will bring in up front, but they will have to be some player to dislodge Hirst. (I think one of Hutchinson or Philogene will move in the summer).

George makes his debut for Scotland on 20:05 - Mar 21 with 887 views | ArnieM | Can't disagree with most of what you've said. Unfortunately I think it might be Omari that gets nicked off us, and not Philogene. Still not sure what McKenna sees in the latter. Ive always felt the players we've brought in thus season were, by and large previously targeted for development in the championship, (except we got promoted which wasn't expected) and not the PL. I'm also not expecting as easier ride next season as many may think we will have. The pressure will very much be on and a huge expectation that we will be immediately promoted again. Leeds have shown that this doesnt always going to go to plan, and I'd say they had a much stronger squad 2 seasons ago than our current squad. The summer comings and goings is going to be an interesting one for sure. I personally, am looking forward to next season. I haven't enjoyed this premier league at all.

You're last couple of sentences are sentiments I've seen a few people express, but I don't understand the reasoning really. You don't like the Prem but are looking forward to doing well in the Championship in order to get promoted back to the Prem!

The fact that we might get promoted again is a good thought for sure. It's the feel-good fa tor of winning on a regular basis and paying/ competing well that I'm looking forward to. The fact that the "reward" for this is promotion back to the PL is in many ways and unfortunate outcome, because the reward is not a particularly one I value. It's a bit like winning a year long competition and being promised a luxary holiday as a prize. But instead of it being a months cruise in the Caribbean it ends up being a month in the Gaza strip. Not my idea of fun.

That's 30/70 for me. The thought of spending a month in the company of cruisers would fill me with absolute dread. Think I would rather take my chances in Gaza.

Lol, it was the first thing that cane into my head. But the principle is the "reward" of PL doesn't fill me with whoopee doo, feeling.
