From 1st minute until 4.24 minutes the Albainians did not touch the ball. It was a boring interlude repeated throughout which produced little progress of note.

Playing with three No.10's will never work and with some times Kane dropping deeper we had 4 No.10's. Just like the old days trying to play Scoles, Lampard and Gerrard in the same team will not work. Dan Burn at c/half had an ok game but as soon as they brought of a half fit forward he looked very nervy. I understand his attacking threat at corners but some of his defensive heading was very weak, he could not seem to get any distance with them. We know that Albania were going to sit deep so wide players were needed rather than Rashford cutting back inside most of the time |
Thought Burn was OK but not really what we need going forward. As you say, if Broja can leave him in his wake (which he did) then he would be badly exposed at a tournament against even half decent teams. Worth a cap to take a look at him, but personally I've seen enough to know it won't work. |  | | |
