I'm starting to think that the best tactics for a promoted club is to buy 6 midfield hard men. When your team plays a bottom-half rival you pick 2 of the hard men. It's a team rotation thing. Their objective is to break the legs (yes, seriously) of the opposition star player(s). 3 match suspension v 3 months out injured. The idea is to reduce the opposing teams to your level of Premiership light-weights. By Xmas all the bottom-half teams will be compromised and even when their stars come back you continue to kick and break legs in the second half of the season.
Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
