Manure 12:38 - May 6 with 454 viewsflykickingbybgunn

If, this time last year, you had said that we would be 3 places below Manure and only 2 below Spurs, who on here would not have taken that ?

I know I would have done.

While our season has not been covered in success I think there are positives we can take.

We gave it a go and tried to play positive entertaining football.
Our team and supporters, both home and away, gave a very favourable impression to other clubs.
It all might have been so different had we not had so many injuries. We never seemed to have the chance of a settled team.
Our players, many of whom only came to us during the summer, are now used to each other. In the same way the last Champs team was. It has been noticeable that when Hirst, Chappers and Broadhead are together they gel easily.
Although we may lose some of our players I don't believe we are going to lose them wholesale. Loans will return of course and possibly Delap and  A.N. Other may go but hopefully that is all. It appears that leaves us with a strong Champs team, in a good place ready for the return push.
Portman Road being refurbished.
New training ground being built.
Women's team Champions. Truly, well done the Tractor Girls.
Budgies 16 places below us in the pyramid.
Looking forward to a good season next year.

Set against that, I believe we will need to look at the midfield. Unfortunately Morsy and Luongo can't be expected to keep going forever.

But if you think our season is disappointing let us consider Manure.

Supposedly the richest club in the world.
More internationals than you could shake a stick at.
Expected to be up there fighting for the top but they are currently 15th.
Losing money hand over fist.
Players on mega bucks that do not play. Many of them, even when they do play, they don't.
Ground crumbling.
Making 20% of their staff redundant to save costs.
All that money and they can only just finish above Ipswich and more importantly than that to them, 12 places below Citeh. And no end in sight to their misery.

That is the killer.

So, if you know a Manure supporter, (and who does n't), go and give them a pat on the back to cheer them up. They need it, the poor things.

Comparing Ipswich to Man Utd is ridiculous.

Another reason for Manu fans to be unhappy is that they are one of only 5 clubs out of 17 who came to our ground and didn't win.

I was there when McKenna's ITFC won in the Premier League at Home. Our only home win in a year.

They could well be playing Champions League football next season, whereas we'll be playing Wrexham and quite possibly Stockport County.
So lets not feel too sorry for them.

Dont feel sorry for them. They deserve what they get for bad management.

I feel for the poor flakies that support them. After all they are clearly the sort that need the suport of a successful football team to bolster their own ego.

If you follow unfashionable clubs like ours then you have to have an inner strength that does not need others admiration all the time.
We follow Town because that is what we do. Not to make us feel good about ourselves.
Yes, we have enjoyed the past few years but that is not why we are here. It goes deeper than that.
