Why the hell do we allow this rotten and stinking form of extortion to go on? Even if you think your share portfolio and pension are better off because of it, there's a moral dimension in the short term and a rotting of social cohesion in the long term which should pull at your conscience and get you to say "enough is enough, we need to reset how our economy works".

Unlikely given it’s a black hole and run by incompetents. Very little of UK pension funds are invested in UK listed stocks anyway (some estimates only around ~4pc of the FTSE100.

In this case, there is a significant holding from pensions for UK academics but otherwise you're right.
