That’s really poor of Clarke on a number of levels.

In one sentence he has knifed a young goalie who has been included in a number of squads (because he’s ready, you’d have to think), his training staff, his own decision-making ability and the general standard of Scottish-goalkeepers.

Everybody has a bad day.
Back the lad, get his confidence back up.

If your public view is he’s not ready for a squad place against Iceland, then you’ve back yourself into a corner where all you can do is drop him.

Not good.
