In’s and Outs before Brum Away 21:18 - Jul 24 with 687 viewsDamster

With the season just 2 weeks away, are we close to accepting the starting squad is what we currently have.

Undoubtedly the starting 11 should be very strong in this league - what positions do we really expect to strengthen in the last 2 weeks.

Losing Hutch sadly looks inevitable and probably not a position we need to cover but for me another CM is essential and do we really keep AAH as back up for Hirst??

Love to be proven wrong but we can’t rely on AAH as our main back-up striker. That just can’t happen.

We've lost Morsy, Cajuste, Phillips & Luongo from midfield - and signed the Morsy replacement in Matusiwa

We need 2 top statement signings in that position, and another forward to rotate/back up Hirst. Anything else is a bonus/tinkering.

By the end of the window, AAH won’t be the back up. But worst case scenario he’s fine for the first few games.

Plenty of options if not, just not the usual McKenna type. Szmodics, Broadhead, Chaplin. All can fill in for 20-25 mins when Hirst is knackered.

They’ll be plenty going on behind the scenes and players being worked on we are not aware of. Our two main signings this summer came out of nowhere, I’m expecting the same for the next few.
