And when everyone’s fit, five of the players who touched the ball probably won’t even be in the starting 11.

Exciting times indeed if the whole squad is playing like that.

Oh that was beautiful, just like old times.
Still got it. Much work on the training pitch with the new players and it's gonna come good.

I think we'll get there. McKenna has got a tune out of a worse squad than this at Championship level and I'd back him to do it again. The issue is it takes a bit of time to build those relationships and muscle memory. KM had a bit of a free hit in that 1st half season and full pre season, we built that over time and took it up to the Championship with us to the extent where I don't think its a stretch to say we were the side with the greatest cohesion, togetherness, tactical nous and patterns. We saw so much change last summer and so much of it so late that we weren't really afforded the luxury of time and as a consequence never really got going and the premier league will chew you up and spit you out which it did. Maybe even time wouldn't have helped at that level, its hard to say.

We've seen more change than I would've liked this summer and lost some continuity, and a lot of it materialising post pre season. Its not ideal, we need to hit our stride pretty quickly but this is probably the first time since L1 where we're had greater parts than most of our opponents. Hopefully creating the greater 'whole' is a bit easier as a consequence. I think we'll improve as the season goes on, it feels to me like a bit of a results business right now to keep pace in the meantime, especially through August until the first break.
