1) I’ll take the point having conceded an equaliser when many players were showing low confidence first half, but we deserved to win given balance of play second half, and you want to win home games against rivals

4 As stated it was clear in the first half that Taylor, Szmodics, Palmer and a few others were struggling to play their best, but the likes of Philogene, OShea, Azor were on it and we started strongly.. and deserved the goal.
5) But Saints had a spell got a goal which was as much Davis not blocking the crosser than Palmer not coming out to get the cross.
6) Second half we started to see the patterns of play we know and love, the crowd reacted, and we had some good chances but not enough.
7) Philogene was MoTM for me, what I liked was how robust he was today and got stuck in. Just Clarke did bundle in via an own goal, and yes wasn’t perfect, but he had some lovely moments.. fans need to back him.
8) Ogbene was a good sub, and caused some real moments of threat… albeit he’s like an oil tanker sometimes
9) Good to get Cajuste on, great reception, a couple of nice short passes
Azor is still adjusting but he made 3 interventions were excellent, and he was well ahead of Downes, you was quiet
10) The real shame is that with Ali injured, and no other strikers ready… we had to leave Hirst and Szmodics on… who were blown
11) Sammy did have a good second half, shame he hit the post
Some muppets on Radio Suffolk, was suggesting McKenna needs to go! I despair at these people
12) Let’s all stay positive, by the time Derby come here we’ll be better gelled and with a much stronger bench - Akpom! Cajuste from the start, I’m more confident after today than I was as I left Bromley… I thought we might lose today, and there would be a fan meltdown, saints have quality and their press at throws was insane, but they are also clearly low on confidence - two Prem hangover teams! |  |
