Seems like we were all lining up to see Who could put the worst spin on our performance yesterday.
Yes it did lack virtually any attacking prowess, yes it was a daft penalty to give away. At times they looked like strangers on the field, continually looking up to find a pass , running offside , over hit crosses. You name it.
It's also true to say these players have played less than a handful of games together and new ones are being introduced on a weekly basis ( two more yesterday) .
One of the main criticism of Kieron McKenna is his refusal to play anything other than McKennaball, which while being ultimately true, it would not be a good idea to try and introduce a new system of play on top of building a new team .
So where does that leave us next week at home to Derby?
I certainly feel we have to inject more pace into our method of play. Certainly keep the passing sharp and movement positive, McKenna can only pick the players he believes will get the best result. But , very little anyone of us can do to take the pressure off that game now. Only goals can do that. 2 or 3 and a performance will bring the manager a bit of respite going into the break. Falling short of that will give him a mountain to climb to be honest.

Yes all forwards now need to take responsibility for creating and scoring goals. Energy and passion for scoring, we currently looks slow and laboured.

Here is a racing driver analogy. We look like a driver going around a brand new circuit for the first handful of test laps as they get to know the sharpest corners and where they can accelerate or where the breaking zones might be or improving timing off the grid! However the race has started!

KMck is also having to deal with new tires and understanding the tire strategy under certain conditions, which tires and how long to run them.

Meanwhile, our development team is introducing a new engine component and a wing potentially a rear spoiler and the whole team is behaving differently to the last model.

Superfans, it might be this year it might not. If not look at the richest of talent we are bringing and will be able to bring in the years ahead. Less bed wetting more understanding of the super dynamics of the highly tuned racing car please.

BTW I’m not actually a F1 enthusiast.
