|Relegation and retribution|
at 08:24 23 Apr 2019
The worst season in ANY supporters memory draws to an inevitably depressing conclusion of 4 consecutive defeats, compounded by the unexpected promotion of our local rivals up at carrow road.
Support for our manager has bordered on desperation since the new year.
Stoked by Lamberts almost constant praise of their "Not normal" attitude toward relegation, whilst both management and fans are seemingly oblivious to what is actually being played out in front of them.
The odd game ( or period of a game to be precise ) has seen the football improve.
But neither the style of play or the flair and energy which produced it have been repeated with any consistency, which cannot be said of the formation and tactics which has and still is firmly come to rest within an unworkable 433 system that the manager continually tries to manoeuvre the team into playing.
After 7 months which has seen the club's fortunes go from a nose dive into a crash landing into third tier football, it would be nice to think the worst is now over and at a lower level , we do still have a team capable of mounting a serious bounce back promotion.
Time now to relieve ourselves of the old guard, who have stood us in good stead these past few seasons and look to start afresh.
To implement a new system which suits our younger players and hope that the experience of playing together at a higher level will be rewarded.
To sign a striker who will provide us with the 20+ goals we are going to need to challenge for promotion.
To have a pre season where EVERYTHING is miraculously addressed and we come out of the tunnel a completely new team.
Or are we REALLY on the right track to do that??
.....wait and see.

It will be the extra game time given to our young players.
Kenlock, Nydam , Wolfenden and Lankester are all very good footballers , and if they mature during next season, we will have a very good foundation for the even younger players we have coming up behind them in the under 18s.
It is the ONLY way forward for this football club now and something which should have been implemented years ago.
That it is not , is the most damning legacy Mick McCarthy has left for this club.
