I dont think any of those 3 come anywhere near his biggest challenge. Team selection really doesnt come into it. |

Chaplin, Morsy , Edmondson, Burgess were all players signed by Paul Cook. Let's see how he gets on putting his own team together, rather than one which was started for him. |

We've spent double on players that haven't worked out |

Unbelievable really , when you look at what we spent |

We struggle against the low block because we play straight into the trap , slow backwards/ sideways passing 30 yards from goal with 10 men behind the ball is always going to produce very few chances. You have to disrupt a low block with pace, very quick pass and move, long balls. We don't seem capable of any of those things at the moment. Until we are it will be a big problem for us. |

In my opinion, McKenna struggles with the low block and always has, both attacking against and defending from breaking from it. The team selection and tactics which revolve around this , only makes it easier for opposition to defend against his teams. It happens every single game in one form or another . The excuse some people have put up on his behalf of integrating players doesn't really stand up when you look how long the vast majority of our starting 11 have been together. |

57 down votes after the results we have had in last 9 months and the performances too, says it all |
 | Forum Reply | Can they applaud McKenna all the way to league one ? at 11:43 31 Aug 2025
I can also remember times when we have held onto managers for far too long, both Keane and Lambert come to mind but there are others, I also remember other times when we have got stuck in the rut of tactics and formations, with nothing changing, McCarthy and fergusson come to mind. So after a whole 9 months of witnessing McKenna going down blind alleys with little or no sign of coming through it despite the millions he's been given to spend on players, I am looking at the bedding in excuses now and thinking , what will they come up with next. Ex-players are saying exactly the same thing, Butcher, Osman , Dozzell all saying similar things, I suppose none of them know anything either? |

Whatever the results, no matter how bad, the excuse is already there for the McKenna fan club. Be it up against premier league sides, too many injuries or bedding in players , its never the manager hasn't got a chuffin clue |

Those defenders are not upto speed after 4 games ? The midfield not upto speed when Cajuste clearly stated he was, neither of those are going to change, and then we have a whole battalion of forward players , not one of them capable of taking on defenders let alone beating them. Keep looking for the improvements |
