Ah, cheese in batter. Not my evening meal but I did have a Butter pie and chips from King Kod on the Blackpool Road, crude but affordable - which could also describe Preston's transfer policy.

I went to PNE in the early 90s (John Beck was manager) for an evening game in the winter and outside the ground there was a small silver band playing. Very classy, I thought.
