Wes Burns and the right hand side 20:05 - Sep 1 with 326 viewsSamWhiteUK

What do we reckon then? Back from injury towards the end of the year, loaned out in January and that's the last we see of him as well?

Longer term, if Chaplin goes, is Wes going to want to stay?

I'm not sure about that right side at all. Burns is out, so we sign McAteer in his place, then we loan Ogbene out. SWE is a Hutch replacement, so that's fine. But sending out Ogbene to get minutes when the reason he won't get them here is just because we've signed someone else, I just don't understand. Sooner or later we're going to end up with Ogbene, Burns and McAteer all back and you know which one we'll ship out. Not seen enough of either Chieo or Kasey to know if they're better than Wes, but it won't matter because the other two cost big money

Loaned out in January. Cant see him playing for us again, he is in the last year of his deal.

Both Burns and Ogbene had potentially career ending injuries. Both based their game on speed and who knows how their injuries have affected that. In addition Burns is the wrong side of 30.

Given that I don’t think Burns has a long term future here although the fact we’ve kept him in the squad and shipped Ogbene out, even though Burns is still injured, speaks volumes about where Ogbene stands currently. Not sure he’ll play for us again either.
