Thread | What has this season taught you?

For me it’s that in general there is a massive gulf in quality between a very good Championship player and a middling PL player!
Our transfer strategy of buying the best in the Championship hasn’t really worked, although given the limits on the amount of money we are allowed to spend it’s hard to see what else we could have realistically done. The £100million+ we have spent would probably only have bought maybe 3 established PL players and it’s doubtful that would have been enough anyway.
The PL is fast becoming a closed shop. Once again the three promoted sides look as if they will be relegated. Hard to see it changing anytime soon. |

We are an honest hard working side but the quality for this level is just not in the squad. There are too many individual errors at critical times and our game management is awful frankly.
We can obviously still get out of it, hopefully we will, but nothing I’ve seen so far leads me to be hopeful we will anymore. Not taking enough of our chances at one end and giving away stupid goals at the other only ends one way unfortunately.
