Assuming details of our offer are true we might need to change our strategy a bit.
We are now part of the richest league in the world. Any club we try to do business with are going to want full value for their player and are unlikely to want top up clauses, which they may or may not get depending on how we perform. We are going to be amongst the favourites to be relegated, like it or not, which could work against us.
We seem to have successfully negotiated top up clauses in the past but we are fishing in a whole different pond now. Players of the quality we need could be hard to get. |

Interesting link which seems to have some substance behind it or at least more than most.
To have a hope of surviving in the PL we are going to have to spend a considerable sum and I think we will. Having got to the PL Gamechanger are not going to want to go straight back down so they will invest as much as allowed.
Obviously the money needs to be spent well but McKenna will presumably be sanctioning the players we put bids in for so I’m happy with moves like this. We are not shopping in the bargain basement anymore as we were under Evans! |

So this fiasco is going to rumble on for at least another week then, we are having to dance to Uniteds tune before we know if we retain our manager or not.
Regardless of the agent’s agenda here he works for McKenna who ultimately must be OK with having his name openly hawked around multiple PL clubs. I don’t have a problem with him leaving but the way it’s been done is disrespectful to Ipswich in my opinion.
