Is there any history of a game not being replayed in these circumstances? Anyone.

The Newcastle-Ipswich match that was abandoned due to icy conditions on Saturday 4 December 1976 was replayed at St James’s Park on Wednesday 9 March 1977. With 10 minutes remaining, and Newcastle leading 1-0, the floodlights failed. However, the referee continued the game in reduced lighting and an 89th minute John Wark goal rescued a point for Town.

Interestingly, what if we were 1-0 up and opposition down to ten …

Just saying - we’d want the result.

But pitch wasn’t playable - although Greaves deserved little sympathy… ban entirely right.

We might want the result, but at only 1-0 up, we wouldn’t really be justified in feeling that way.
