Finally at peace. 15:26 - Oct 5 with 303 viewspatrickswell

I’m thrilled for those Town fans who’ve never seen us beat Norwich, and for those of us who do remember what it’s like to win a derby, it’s nice to have added one to the list of memories (only our 6th win in the last 31 derbies.)

So many indelible images from today. Hirst, Cajuste and Stacey all putting their hands on their heads in astonishment after Philogene’s strike. Davis’s nonchalant “you were expecting something else?” reaction to the goal. The three subs combining to set up the third goal. Jack Clarke, now looking completely comfortable in his own skin in an Ipswich shirt, and most gloriously of all, Nunez absolutely milking the occasion - palpably not giving a damn about his former fans’ feelings, and all after a decent performance when he came on.

Promotions, the Premier League, a long craved for derby victory - the Banter Era finally consigned to dust, and new adventures waiting to be written . In a sense, today released us as both a club and a set of supporters. No caveats to be inserted into our achievements, no nagging regrets or shadows hanging over us now. Just clear blue skies and lush green grass for our beloved ITFC to continue their story on.

Is it really only 6 wins in 31 derbies for us? Facking hell.

Yep, since the 5-0 in February 1998, you have today, Jim Magilton’s 3 wins at Portman Road, and Joe Royle’s 2 wins at Carrow Road. 14 Norwich wins (7 of which were at PR) and 11 draws.
