Why when a player is fouled and a free kick is given, why is it that player, if they have to receive treatment because of the foul, (like when Akpom was poleaxed), do they still have to go off for 30 secs?

The referee gives the advantage of a free kick because of the foul, but then the advantage is taken away by being forced to play with 10 men for 30 seconds.

It isn’t if the offending player receives a yellow card - at that point if the fouled player is treated “in a reasonable amount of time” they don’t have to go off.

That should have been a yellow card.
