I suggested that if we won Tuesday then an automatic place was guaranteed - in the bag, stop the season, open top bus parade… ahem
We didn’t, and we didn’t because we haven’t yet found 3rd gear.
We have the players, although it would be nice to get Davis, Burns, Szmodics back.
Not sure we’ve quite got the character and squad culture, it is building, Daragh doing better than the naysayers suggest.
Crucially a flicker of a bond between the new team and the fan base (who pine for the double promotion old guard - cue Burgess love in over this weekend). Egeli, Matusiwa and Clarke leading the charge of likability!
But crucially against Watford, a chance for 3 point and a true run, was that the attacking line is in third gear at times, even shows signs of slamming it into fourth - but goals from Akpom, the Spaniard and Egeli lack - when it does click the automatics will look likely as per the bookies view.
So let’s hope for a QPR performance (without the sloppy bits) and a win… need Taylor’s form to continue. Then a break and we’d come back in rude health for a lot of games and a real push.
Perhaps Ashton should buy Kieran an automatic?!

Have the skill centre in the building,
But no backbone we're well to flakey,
I predicted automatic I'm not rowing back on this yet but after the good work at qpr we blew a great chance against watford woeful finishing I will be soon,
It needs to click a bit more and quickly,
Lots of teams above and around us just do the business,
