Music to cheer up the Dismals 23:33 - Nov 24 with 523 viewsChurchman

Something to bring a few grins and foot tapping.

If this doesn’t make you smile, sing along and put your worries over ITFC, you’ve probably died. It’s even the long play version for you. Enjoy.

Please add what tunes makes you happy

This version of this track never fails to lift my spirits.
A complete joy.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

And as it’s my thread I’ll add a little bonus to cheer and indulgence for me. The best live band around mid/late seventies. This has to played as loud as the eardrums can take because that’s how it was only louder. Speakers banked up, jeans, t shirts, smoke drifting up, smell of decay in an old cinema, sound of shattering seats as they were jumped on, wall of sound, flat booze after less flat booze, s@d the warm up band, go absolutely crazy. Mental.

Boy was I lucky to experience that

Edit: this is the original frantic four, but I’m guessing about 1980.

Both the song and the video are uplifting.

Here come bad news, talkin' this and that (yeah)
Well, give me all you got, don't hold it back (yeah)
Well, I should probably warn ya, I'll be just fine (yeah)
No offense to you, don't waste your time, here's why

Because I'm happy.

This is a joy from start to finish but if Donald 'Duck' Dunn's bass playing at about 02:23 doesn't bring a smile to your face then you may be beyond help.

A Trammps song covered by a petrol pump attendant from Surrey who played The Manor Ballroom to around fifty people is never going to work, is it ?

Great track from the superb ‘Hand-clappin’, Foot-stompin, Funky-butt…Live’ and the wonderful Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band
