| Central midfield looking a worry again 10:11 - Dec 3 with 236 views | TractorJack | 2 seasons in a row where there feels a big missstep in recruitment here. Obviously both have had good moments but I personally don't think Jens or Nunez have what it takes to do the defensive work required which maybe why neither have been able to stay in the team. Then Taylor comes in and does really well for a few games, before showing why he perhaps wasn't in the team before, giving it away for the goal at Oxford followed by a no-show last night and getting hooked at half time. We know how good Azor has been off the ball but just isn't on Morsy's level in possession, possibly exacerbated by the fact he has to start every game. Unfortunately we'll have to try again in Jan won't we? | | | | |
| Central midfield looking a worry again on 10:50 - Dec 3 with 134 views | NthQldITFC | I'd have to watch it again, but I didn't think Taylor had a bad half last night, in fact I was impressed by him a few times in that first half and felt that he looked sharp and was looking after the ball well, albeit in a team that wasn't functioning at all well. I think the change was more of a tactical one there - early on Matusiwa was breaking forward more than he has done before and I don't think that was working out well for us when Blackburn countered. So I think the idea was to drop Matusiwa back into his normal role and bring on Nunez for his extra creativity, which meant sacrificing Taylor. I didn't think that reflected badly on Taylor at all, but I might have missed something. | |
