BBC 2 9pm tonight Sir Chris Hoy 16:28 - Dec 18 with 530 viewsPinewoodblue

An hour long programme on his battle with prostate cancer, which he has recently been told is now terminal.

He is two years ahead of me on my journey, thirty years younger and probably even now fitter than I have ever been.

Guess now is a good time to remind those over 50 to ask to be tested, especially if there is any history of prostate or breast cancer in your family. It is calculated if your father or brothers have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer your chances of being affected are doubled.

Poll: Dickhead "Noun" a stupid, irritating, or ridiculous man.

Thanks for the heads up and I wish you well.

I had the test about a year and a half ago arranged by a prostate cancer charity through the local Lions.

Fortunately, my risk was low and they indicated I didn't need to re-test for three years.

Probably worth adding that prostate cancer is more common among black men, so factor that in among the other risk factors Pinewood has mentioned.
