Time for more stringent rules on playability 12:43 - Jan 4 with 179 viewsZx1988

With the amount of money in football these days, and the amount of money spent by fans, surely the EFL/FA have to step up and put in place tougher rules concerning the need to have a playable pitch.

External conditions are a different beast but, surely, if you cannot play a match in the top two tiers as a result of a frozen/flooded/mole-infested pitch, there's a case for sanctions against the offending club?

There are plenty of rules about stadium facilities (including those which blocked Gateshead's promotion the other season), so it's not without precedent to ensure that stadia at certain levels comply with certain minimum standards.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.
