Rubbish, lots of it 13:40 - Jan 16 with 1762 viewsIllinoisblue

Would agree with this. Every time I’m back in England it’s very noticeable. America is very very far from perfect - and an early morning walk through the streets of New Orleans is like walking through a sewer - but generally, town and city streets here are not awash with rubbish.

Yep - it's dreadful.

Basics like bin collection are so poor where I live - just yesterday the bins weren't collected on their scheduled day with no explanation given. Similarly the local council insists on not putting covers on bins in an area with thousands of foxes - the result being litter on the streets every morning once the foxes have done their thing. I even offered to donate to the council and pay for bin covers myself but wasn't allowed.

I despair of this country sometimes, that’s truly pathetic (on their behalf not yours!). No place for common sense and pragmatism. Probably couldn’t deviate from whatever overpriced contract they’d ’negotiated’ with someone.

What did you see in that statement that engaged you so much you agreed with it?

Just politely engaging, apparently you’re a top bloke to share a pint with…

Maybe you just despise the right kind of immigrants?
