Mercy (film) - using AI to replace judges. 15:45 - Jan 25 with 483 viewsBlacknGoldnBlue

Ive just watched the latest Chris Pratt film. The concept is that judges are replaced by AI!
I wonder if we'll ever move to a system when AI replaces judges. Surely in a justice system where we have laws that mean you either break the law or not, AI would make the verdicts and sentences uniform across the UK and speed up the process!

Is this a step too far? Do we want a black & white (no grey area) justice system?

Poll: How do we feel the rest of the season will play out?

Speaking as a lawyer (but with no skin in the game), it's a no for me.

As it is, there have already been a couple of cases where AI came up with nonsense.

On the other hand, maybe we will reach such an advanced state that all crime will be committed by robots, making the use of AI in court cases perfectly acceptable.
