The Club are going to love this… FAN A Game 1: Went Game 2: Returned ticket Away points: 1 FAN B Game 1: Didn’t go Game 2: Bought ticket Away points: 0 (if they return it now, presumably, given the early call off) But when you then think ahead to Game 3, what about… FAN C Game 1: Went Game 2: Kept ticket Game 3: Returned ticket Away points: 1 (surely, as per Fan A) Yet the Game 2 group of fans would also include… FAN D Game 1: Didn’t go Game 2: Bought ticket Game 3: Returned ticket Away points: 0 (surely, as per Fan B) FAN E Game 1: Didn’t go Game 2: Didn’t go Game 3: Bought ticket Away points: 1 (same as a fan who did all 3) So do the Club end up having to work out when you bought your ticket, rather than which match you were going to, in order to differentiate between any fans returning today’s tickets, depending on whether they got halfway to Pompey for Game 1?! Or you just give everyone who’s bought a Pompey ticket 1 point, capped at 1 point, even though today was called off early enough to minimise impact (train tickets aside etc, which I don’t dismiss), and others could just go to Game 3 and be rewarded in the same way as someone who does them all. I’m sure they’ll just give everyone 1 point to simplify it, but a fun thought experiment to pass the spare time now, if nothing else! Also shows you the kind of nonsense they have to think through!
