Of sick in my mouth the thought Hayden Hackney was in the building and didn't sign. If only he had been given that famous coffee cup Mark Ashton has stuck to him, maybe that would of swung it.

What a ridiculous take on it. Wait until you hear that we passed up the chance to sign Ruud Gullit and that Paul Gascoigne was “in the building”. Hackney is a decent player, we tried to sign him and he didn’t want to join. It’s happened numerous times in the past and will do plenty of times in the future.

I'm sure I remember it being reported that he came down here

He did....we rolled out the Blue carpet for him, but he preferred red.

Exactly this. He didn’t want to come here. It’s as simple as that.

Nothing to be envious or wet the bed over. It happens. He made a choice and had every right to do so. Given how good Middlesbrough are and the options he will have in May/June, it looks like the right decision from his perspective too.

We move on.

I only saw the Boro highlights against Sheff Utd, but Hackney was immense. Driving runs through the middle, great layoffs, long range efforts and supremely confident.
Seemed like Nunez/Cajuste combined (our alternative 'in the aggregate'?)
Writing a great football story with his allegiance. Be an absolute legend if they go up.
Be interesting to see how he does in the Premier.
