OK so there is much could critique about tonight's game, not least the painful juxtaposition between their incisive, speedy (counter) attacking and our ponderous, overthought, overcoached approach, or the decision to play Baggott left back (instead of having him, central with the chance of popping up with a headed goal and Greaves at left) to ask the more fundamental question of what's the point of the academy? All that hang wringing over category 1 and 2, to what end? who was the last yoof deployed well? Cam Humphreys in League 1? Did a sterling job, faded and Mass took us over the line, decent trajectory on all fronts (but since then?). Supremely irked as to how Baggott was played tonight, and if you're going to sub him put Boniface at left back for crying out loud - very talented (ex-Chelsea) youngster who revels and creates in that position. So he gets taken to Wales, for what? The experience? Cheers guv / doffs cap, phones agent... why (money aside) would you come to ITFC as a yoof? pointless | |
