I wasn't massively impressed with how we saw out the final 10 minutes or so, thought it was naive to give them a look back in in the manner we did but prior to that it was a very professional away performance. Limited them to half chances, moved the ball much more quickly and confidently on a nice surface, and created a bit ourselves. Could've been more clinical when we got into good areas but solid enough. Neil looked a level above what we've got in the middle, really good and progressive on the ball, excellent off it and a natural leader. Shout out to Jack Clarke as well, my MOTM and a constant thorn in their side. Another one who got through a ridiculous amount of running, got us up the pitch really well, and so selfless off the ball. The sooner we can have Philogene back to give us another option the better too. Great reaction to Saturday with a win and clean sheet, hopefully a springboard for a big run of games over the next month. Made even better with Boro dropping points, a timely wobble from them which we need to punish them for with our games in hand.

Know we'll want to be careful of flogging him given how little he's played this season (especially with the fixture list a bit congested over the next couple of weeks or so) but we need to be starting him as much as possible. Don't think it can be underestimated how much of a difference it makes having Nunez in the team either. We seem to have stumbled upon having him in that position but he connects the middle and final thirds better than anyone else. What I really like about Clarke is that he just keeps going and going and going. Different level obviously but thought he could be bumped into having a quiet game in the Prem, but now if he loses possession or gets knocked off the ball he's completely undeterred and goes again at the next opportunity. Small point but thought it was a really good 30 mins from Burns - his pace and directness completely shut down their left hand side, repeatedly forced them into conceding throw ins deep in their own half. Think we were all unsure how he'd be after a nasty injury and subsequent long time out but really good to see him come back and look an important member of the squad again.

Agree with all of that. Neil won't be short of offers come the summer, he's exactly the sort of player I would be signing if I were one of the relegated clubs, a Wolves or West Ham if they drop could do so much worse. He's a good age, knows the league and doesn't seem to have a huge ego about him either. Proper leader and I'd imagine a very helpful character. He would've fit in well 2 years ago as well. Burns was very good, he's so smart on and off the ball, really mature player whose decision making is so on point. He seems to have a base level of performance that he so rarely drops below, you just know what you'll get from him.

To add to the discussion on Neil, I liked the way he dropped in almost as another defender on the left when Greaves was pushed right up, he seems to have the in game intelligence to be able to do that. That probably gives us 3.5 midfielders for the run in as Cajuste still seems a bit off the level required. If we can get Philogene fit then we have contrasting options on the left, with Nunez and Mehmeti in the 10 and on the right with Burns & SWE and perhaps also with Hirst and Azon further forward. Maybe not all of those players quite work or are consistent enough but that's stronger than we've been all season I think. Might be a big 'if' on Jaden though, it's been a while and keeps getting delayed.

Yeah, very Luongo like in that positional discipline and ability to cover the ground. Very street wise and offers really good protection defensively. Alongside Matusiwa they're a very Southgatey 'double pivot', which with the quality we've got ahead of them offers a nice blend, home or away. Cajuste is miles off it IMO. Clearly has a lot of ability but ability alone doesn't make a high functioning side. I don't begrudge us taking a punt on him in the summer off the back of last season, but equally I wouldn't feel compelled to involve him. Eyes on the prize at this stage, grind those wins out and deal with that in the summer.

I watched the match from the stand, believed to be the Graham Taylor stand, with the close friend Who is a Watford season ticket holder. I only have 16 points thus couldn’t get a ticket with our fans. Being London based this was a must see game. Thought it was an all round good performance with Walton, Greaves and Nunez outstanding. Their 66 should have been sent off for the throw at Jacob’s nether regions which happen d right in front of me. Great 3 points, roll on next 3 home games. Even the Watford fans on their forum were complimentary

I thought we were very convincing. The game was won in midfield for me - Azor and Neil were excellent and Nunez just makes us tick in front of them. We are undoubtedly a better side with him in it. Need to keep our foot on the gas now.
