Alton Towers don't provide the only roller coaster in that part of the world - what a range of emotions we went through tonight.

First half, we were sloppy with the ball. Misplaced passes, not able to trap many of those that didn't go astray. Blue army in great voice. At one point we sang a raucous "Blue and White Army" for what seemed like an age, it had shades of Barnsley away. The difference was - the ball didn't leave our half during it - and then Stoke scored. We roared and they scored again. We paid for being slow, careless and toothless which seems to sum this strange season up.

Second half, what a difference. Town purred, we roared again. Stoke time-wasted their way to 3-2 down and we decided the job was done, sending on a very strange midfield duo of Cajuste and Neil to close the game out. They didn't. Although the errors that caused the capitulation weren't theirs.

At 93 minutes, it felt like a watershed, we're back and have proved we can fight back. At 95, it can still be a watershed but Kieran needs to turn this into a siege. "The world's against us, let's take it on". I hope that's the outcome, along with acknowledging that when a team plays a high line ane we have fast width, it would be good to use it to get in behind rather than try and play through at grandma's shopping pace.

We're not done yet but we have to fire for more than 40 minutes a game.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
Poll: Which recent triallist should we have signed?
