A perspective from an overseas fan 12:11 - Mar 25 with 418 viewsIPS_wich

It goes without saying that I hold Reform and their odious Trump wannabe in absolute contempt, but I’ve been busy at work and I tend to zone out of football when it’s the international break so I’ve come to this all a bit late in the day.

So it was some bemusement that the first I heard about the Farage visit was on the BBC website. I immediately jumped onto TWTD, read the club statement and how it was booked through the Portman Rd corporate bookings. My first instinct was it must be some mix up, these things happen and maybe there’s been some overreaction.

However, I then jumped back to the BBC article and scrolled down and saw the two photos - one with Farage holding up a personalised home shirt in the same way we promote new signings, the second of him sat in the changing room surrounded by multiple personalised home shirts.

So, I’m sorry Ashton and whoever is in club comms, but I call BS. This was no innocent oversight. It was planned, you printed multiple Farage branded home shirts and let the prick have an access all areas pass with a photographer.

That Town shirt has been worn by our clubs legends. Players who have earned the right to wear the shirt and who have sweated blood and tears for our club (and Jonathan Douglass). It’s also been proudly worn by generations of Town fans who have stood by the club through good times and bad.

In one move you have degraded the shirt, degraded the club and degraded our history…and then come out with a pathetic statement that is just full of bare faced lies.

To everyone at the club who had any involvement in the visit and the lily-livered response - shame on you. SHAME ON YOU ALL.

Degrading the club shirt because it was held up by a leader of one of the major uk parties , do you realise how overly dramatic and nonsensical that sounds?

It sounds nonsensical because you've ignored the issue

It's not about "a leader of one of the Major UK Party holding a shirt up"

its because it's prk of the highest order holding it, for a commercial social media video promoting reform.
