Gazza got booked once for doing that in Scotland Although he probably made the mistake of nicking the refs cards to begin with rather than bringing his own!

I remember that. Always thought it a bit harsh, he was only having a laugh as Gazza liked to do. Ref had dropped the card and he was picking it up for him - not quite 'nicking' but nonetheless he got it waved back at him. Maybe that was what set the precedent!

The ref had actually dropped his yellow card, Gascoigne picked it up & showed it to the referee in a theatrical manner. The stupid jobsworth ref then booked Gascoigne for his impetuous but amusing action.
