Do you think Charlton will be saying something along the lines of “we really like you Harry, but just have a few days off whilst we prep for this game”

and do think Harry is on the phone to Kieran saying “what do you want to know boss??”

Just wondered your thoughts … just trying to keep my mind busy with nonsense until Wednesday!!

If there was any such thing happening with Chaplin it clearly didn’t help!!! Although Harry is a true blue, fan and all!!

It's clear his future is more likely at Charlton then Ipswich - I don't doubt that any loan player is heavily involved in the preparation against their parent club.

That said, I wonder if loan players still get promotion bonuses and presumably a wage increase if their parent club go up. That would make for an interesting dynamic around this time of year.

I assume that loan players do get a promotion bonus, if there's one in their contract. I always thought that's one of the reasons why Ladapo went on loan in our last promotion season rather than make a permanent move. And maybe why Szmodics is on loan at Derby, rather than it being a permanent move at this stage.

And if we do go up Conor Chaplin's winner for Portsmouth against Boro will mean he's earnt every penny of his.

Do you want me to ask him.

Ladapo, Clarke, Chaplin or Szmodics?

Any or all of them would be good, thanks.

I think Szmodics in on loan at Derby because they couldn't agree a fee with Town for a permanent deal. He's still got 2 years left on his Town deal, presumably at high wages so I can see him going for free in the summer. I doubt he will kick another ball for Town.

Generally, a loan player cannot return to their parent club to play in the playoffs if their loan agreement lasted until the end of the regular season. Modern EFL rules require loans to extend until the next registration window, meaning players cannot return to play for a new team until the following season.
Under EFL Regulation 53.1.4, if a player’s loan expires at the end of the transferee club's season (even if the parent club is still playing in the playoffs), they are generally ineligible to represent the parent club.
