These people that keep pedaling the line "Ashton told us not to listen to the media etc". Are you suggesting that you think it's all been a load of b*ll*cks and that it's made up, just because he's ended up staying? I don't really understand why that's being chucked out there at people who were worried or did believe he was off elsewhere.
FWIW a source close to it at the Brighton end thought it was all wrapped up pre the interest from bigger clubs and they're v.surprised it's ended up with him not going anywhere.
Media speculation can be true, even if that same speculation doesn't end up playing out. He's now essentially said yes to two different clubs, and ended up back-tracking. I love it, but just cause he hasn't gone, doesn't mean he wasn't very close. |

A little birdie has told me he's expected to be fit for tomorrow's game. Would be a huge win. Has limped off with a bad ankle a few times since he's been here, only to seemingly recover (or battle through) quickly. |

There was talk originally that he'd be back for the end of season - for that to be true he'd probably be have had to returned to some sort of training by now.

Assuming yes, surely that's our Ladapo replacement and there's still a Hirst replacement (whilst he's injured) to come?

Do we think it's a fair assumption to make that if he's not here by Saturday, then he's not coming? Certainly if he plays for Bham, then he's not coming?
His insta post was one of two things - it was either a "goodbye" post (I was sure it was), or a "I'm staying" post. There's no other reason.
So if was goodbye, I'd expect him to move pretty quickly (certainly not play at the weekend). Therefore, if not here and plays on Saturday, we can assume it's not happening. |
