Not to put a damper on it but we've seen this before. Harry Hugo, the Chairman, has invested a good amount of his billions in to the club, but it gets a hell of a lot tougher in the National Leagues. Teams like Dorking, Fylde, Brackley and Borehamwood have all made it to the NL then stalled and in some cases dropped back down. Macclesfield and Bury have shot through the leagues as 'big fish in a small pond' clubs, but Macc have only made the playoffs this year and will probably end up facing Shields who only just missed out on the automatic place. The reformed Telford whizzed up to the NLN after a slow start but have never been higher than the lower reaches of the NL since then. It's doable, but by God it's hard, and it takes a load of cash. | |
